PALOS HILLS, IL—Palos Hills' gaming cafes continue to be targeted by coordinated smash-and-grab crews, with a third attack at Darla's Gaming Cafe since April, reports said.
During the overnight hours of Aug. 27, Palos Hills officers went to the cafe at 106th Street and Roberts Road for a reported burglary. By the time they got there, there was glass on the ground from where the purported burglars bashed their way into the cafe. Two gaming machines were heavily damaged, with an unknown amount of money stolen.
Darla's was hit on April 28 and then a few days later, on May 6.
Smash-and-grab crews targeted Stella's on Aug. 24. The gambling venue was also hit in April and June. In the latest incident, officers saw four people wearing all black clothing and masks jumping into a white Audi SUV and fleeing westbound on 111th Street. Palos Hills police did not return an email asking if a chase was initiated. The gambling venue was also hit in April and June.
