False Fire Alarm

David Winters, 19, of Palos Hills, was arrested and charged him with felony disorderly conduct after pulling an apartment building’s fire alarm and running, according to Palos Hills police reports.

The owner of a building in the 10200 block of South 86th Terrace told police he saw Winters loitering in the foyer at about 10 p.m., before watching him walk up to the fire alarm, pull it and run.

Police found Winters in the area, and Winters admitted to pulling the alarm, the report stated.

THURSDAY, JAN. 22

Stolen Boots

A plumber working on the job reported his boots stolen, according to Palos Hills reports. .

The plumber, who was working at the Social Security Administration Offices, 10718 S. Roberts Road, on Jan. 22, told police he took his boots off in order to work inside one of the rooms, and when he returned, his boots were missing.

Bargoer Punched in Face

A man reported being hit by two unidentified individuals while he was standing at an outdoor beer garden Jan. 22, according to Palos Hills police reports.

The victim was in the beer garden at about 11:45 p.m., at Durbin’s Lounge, 10154 S. Roberts Road, when two individuals walked up to him and began hitting him in the face, the report stated.

The subjects were no longer at the bar when police arrived, and detectives are investigating the incident.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 21

Cabbie Stiffed

A man reportedly stiffed a cabbie on a $27 fare from the airport Jan. 21, according to Palos Hills police.

A cabbie called police at about 3 a.m. to the 9900 block of South 84th Terrace after a man he drove from Midway Airport tried to pay with a credit card that was denied, the report stated. The man told the cabbie he would go inside the apartment to get money to pay the fare, but he did not return.

Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

MONDAY, JAN. 19

Fleeing Police

Redas Vidziunas, 22, of Palos Hills, was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer, speeding, no insurance and two counts of failure to signal after a car chase Jan. 19, according to Palos Hills police reports.

Police observed Vidziunas traveling southbound at high speeds at around 1:30 a.m., in the 10800 block of Roberts Road, the report stated. Police tried to stop Vidziunas, but he turned right onto Stoney Creek Drive from 111th Street, then abandoned the car, the report added.

Eventually, police found Vidziunas and arrested him, the report stated.

Vidziunas’s court date is March 13.

THURSDAY, JAN. 15

Battery at Stagg High School

Salah Fryhat, 18, of Hickory Hills, was arrested and charged with battery after a Jan. 15 fight at Stagg High School, 8015 W. 111th St., according to a Palos Hills police report.

Fryhat hit another juvenile got into a fight at about 10 a.m. at the school, the report stated. The fight was broken up shortly after Fryhat’s punch, and police processed her at about 5 p.m., the report added.

Fryhat’s court date is Jan. 30.
