BMW Stolen Stolen At Gas Pump In Palos Park

The owner was inside the Shell Gas Station when someone climbed behind the wheel and took off, police said.

PALOS PARK, IL — A BMW was stolen Tuesday evening from a gas station in Palos Park. Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen the auto theft.

Just before 10 p.m., a man on his way to work was pumping gas at the Shell gas station, 135th Street and Lagrange Road. The man left his keys in the car as he dashed into the mini-mart, police said. When he was inside, police said a masked man swiped his 2009 blue BMW at the gas pump.

Another customer described the thief as a thin, dark-skinned male, 5-feet-4-inches tall, and wearing a Nike or Adidas jumpsuit. The man got out of a small, dark-colored SUV and got into the BMW, police said.
