Abandoned, Capsized Boat Pulled from Cal Sag Channel

An overturned boat was removed from the Cal Sag Channel near Ridgeland Avenue and Route 83 Monday morning. The boat appeared to be abandoned, and matched the description of one Alsip police had seen days earlier. It had drifted toward the middle of the channel, posing a possible problem for larger boats passing through the channel.

Crews from Palos Heights and North Palos fire districts pulled the boat to the shore, where they tied it to a sign.
