Boy Recants 'Child Abduction' Story: Cops
Report of an attempted child abduction near Conrady Junior High School did not happen, Palos Hills police say.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- The report of an attempted child abduction on May 22 near Conrady Junior High School in Palos Hills has turned out to be unsubstantiated, police said in a news release. A boy who reported being pulled into a white van while walking to school has recanted his story.
The Palos Hills Police Department indicated during the early stages of the investigation that the boy’s report could not be substantiated. While police investigated the incident, extra patrols were put in around the school. It turned out, however, that the claim was false.
“[The] juvenile recanted his statement and admitted that the child abduction never occurred and that no crime was committed.”
