Boy Shot In Palos Hills, Shooter in Custody: Cops

Palos Hills police are investigating the shooting of a boy that took place Sunday morning. The alleged shooter is in custody.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- A boy was shot in the abdomen Sunday morning in Palos Hills. The alleged shooter is also said to be in custody, Palos Hills police said in a news release.

Police responded to a call for an ambulance assist for a reported gunshot victim around 9:30 a.m. in the 8500 block of 101st Terrace. When police arrived, they learned that a male juvenile had been shot in the abdomen. The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Police said it has been reported that the gunshot wound is non-life threatening.

A male suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Police said he is not a juvenile. The shooting remains under investigation. Charges have not been confirmed. More information will be released as the investigation continues, police said.
