Stagg's Helping Hands
On Saturday, April 27, students came together to help beautify Amos Alonzo Stagg High School for Global Youth Service Day (GYSD).
On Saturday, April 27, students came together to help beautify Amos Alonzo Stagg High School for Global Youth Service Day (GYSD). Stagg’s Helping Hands was 1 of 10 other project sites put together by high school students for Global Youth Service Day, an international day of service.
Students pitched in to help with several small projects around Stagg High School including revamping bulletin boards and updating photos. Students also created care packages to give to patients with caner including items such as blankets, hats, games and personalized messages. A representative from Imerman Angels, an organization dedicated to helping patients with cancer spoke to the group of student volunteers.
Close to 100 students from the southwest suburbs of Chicago served for Global Youth Service Day (GYSD). Students from 13 different high schools joined together with millions of others to give back. Together, projects benefited 5 different villages including Palos Hills, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Mokena and Frankfort.
