Take Flight Without Leaving the Ground
The Palos Radio Control Flying Club helps visitors take flight without leaving the ground.

Did you know that there are nine designated Model Airplane Flying Fields located throughout the Cook County Forest Preserve District? One of them is right on the corner of 107th and LaGrange Road.
Officially known as Morrill Meadow, this big, empty space becomes a landing and take off field most weekends. Our girls love to drive by just to see what is flying by. Once in a while a plane flies over LaGrange Road, which delights them even more.
Morrill Meadow is the home of the Palos Radio Control Flying Club, an AMA charted club since 1964. According to the Palos Radio Control Flying Club website, "Visitors are always welcome and our members are always willing to answer any questions that you may have about our hobby." Our experience is that this is very true. The members are very friendly and patient with questions.

Bring a water bottle and lawn chair to the field and enjoy a totally free show. On a hot weekend like this, you'll want to get a place in the shade. Luckily for you there are lots of trees surrounding the field to help you stay cool while you enjoy the show.
