Car Burglars Hit Vehicles In Palos Hills

Palos Hills police are investigating a rash of car burglaries that occurred July 15.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Palos Hills police are investigating a rash of car burglaries that happened July 15. Several vehicles were broken into in the 9500 block of 89th Avenue and the 8700 block of 96th Place. Some of the vehicles were unlocked.

The burglars stole items from the vehicles. Other cars were disturbed but nothing was taken. Police want residents to know that they are actively investigating these crimes.

  • Always secure the doors and windows to your vehicle.
  • Remove valuables from your vehicle -- especially overnight.
  • Do not leave the key or key fob in your vehicle when its unoccupied.
  • Do not leave keys, loose coins, wallets, phones and other items in clear view inside your vehicle.
  • Activate your alarm if you have it.
  • Report suspicious vehicles and people in the neighborhood.
  • Take steps to avoid being a target.
  • Call 911 immediately to report suspicious or criminal activity.
