Check Mailed From Bridgeview Post Office Made Out To Another Payee

Another incident of check washing tied to the Bridgeview Post Office was reported to Palos Hills police.

PALOS HILLS, IL — In the continuing probe of check washing tied to the Bridgeview Post Office, a Palos Hills resident reported that a check mailed in January was altered, reports said.

This time, resident told police a check for $2,270 was mailed to the U.S. Treasury from the mailboxes outside the USPS postal branch at 7401 W. 100th Place, Bridgeview. When the resident reviewed the bank statement, police said the check had altered and made out to “Dezel Tolliver.”

Bridgeview police confirmed that keys had been stolen internally from the postal branch. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service confirmed it is investigating the complaints from the Bridgeview Post Office. Residents who believe they have been defrauded are encouraged to report any incidents to their local police department as well as the Postal Inspection Service.
