Chicago Bulls Guard Ayo Dosunmu To Hold Youth Basketball, Cheer Camps
The Chicago native and Bulls star will host basketball and cheer camps Sept. 14-15 for boys and girls, ages 7-18 at Shepard High School.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL – Chicago native and former Illinois basketball star, Ayo Dosunmu, is kicking off his third season with the Chicago Bulls in a special way. Before heading to training camp, he’ll host his foundation’s first basketball and cheer camp for boys and girls between ages 7 and 18 on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15 at Shepard High School, 13049 S. Ridgeland, Palos Heights.
The camp, produced by Celebrity Sports Academy is for beginner to advanced skill levels. Over the course of the two days, basketball campers will rotate through a ball handling specific station, led by Jason Kent of Next Level Basketball; as well as work on shooting, passing and footwork at their skills and drills station, led by Pierre Pierce of DBLP Basketball.
Time spent at the agility station will focus on speed, strength, and explosiveness led by the trainers of Operation Basketball. Basketball tournaments will also be played both days, under the camp’s basketball commissioner, Tommy Sampson, of TS Basketball Training.

Cheer campers will be instructed by Aja Streets, of Mean Streets Elite, learning the fundamentals, as well as a choreographed routine that will be performed on the second day of camp.
Campers will also spend time inside the Sportology Classroom where instructor Jeremy Holmes, of TreasureVlle Academy, will take the student-athletes through elements of his program. Teaching the key steps to success, both on and off the court, such as gratitude, effort, attitude and coachability.

Campers can look forward to team photos with the Chicago Bulls guard on Saturday; as well as an end of the day camper Q&A, which parents are invited to attend.
A highlight of the camp program will take place on Sunday, Sept. 15, when parents and campers will have the opportunity to participate in the Ayo Dosunmu Skills Challenge, going up against the hometown kid turned NBA pro. Surprise visits are scheduled on Sunday with Ayo’s teammates from the Chicago Bulls.
In conjunction with the camp, a school supply drive will be held benefiting the Ayo Dos Foundation, providing opportunity and inspiration to the youth of Chicago. Camp families are encouraged to bring school supply items to donate. All those that donate will have the opportunity to win autographed memorabilia and the chance to compete one on one against Ayo Dosunmu.
