Child Luring Incident Proven To Unfounded

Child said a man offered her $20 to enter his vehicle but Palos Hills police could not find evidence on home security video.

PALOS HILLS, IL —Palos Hills police said its investigation into a report of child luring has proven to be unfounded. Around 11 a.m. July 29, an 8-year-old girl said that a man driving a red van in the 8100 block of Valley Drive offered her $20 to enter her vehicle, reports said.

The girl refused to get into the vehicle and ran to tell an adult what happened. Several neighbors have security cameras in the area, that captured a red Jeep. Police determined that the Jeep was not involved.

Officers interviewed neighbors and combed home security cameras. The incident turned out to be unfounded.
