Christmas Good Deed Rewarded By Choking and Punching: Police

A woman leaving a Christmas party at a banquet hall was punched and choked after she intervened in another couple's argument, police said.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- A woman trying to do a good deed on Christmas Day was punched and choked for her efforts when she tried to intervene in an argument between another man and woman, reports said. The woman had been attending a Christmas party at a Palos Hills banquet hall. An investigation remains ongoing.

According to the report, the woman was walking out of Holiday Banquets at 10140 Roberts Road around 11:45 p.m. Dec. 25, when she saw the couple arguing inside a car. When she stopped to ask the woman if she was OK, the man approached her. Police said the man punched the Good Samaritan in the mouth and choked her around the neck. The incident remains under police investigation. No charges have been filed.
