'Completely Stupid Night' Lands Worth Man in Jail on Drug Charge: Prosecutor
19-year-old man picks up new felony drug charge while out on bond, prosecutor says.

Jeffrey Oakes, 19 | Cook County Sheriff
Oak Lawn, IL -- A 19-year-old Worth man will spend the next several days in jail when he allegedly violated bond for a pending drug charge following a “completely stupid night” at an Oak Lawn Park.
Jeffrey Oakes, 19, appeared before Cook County Associate Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of possession of a control substance and various misdemeanor charges, including unlawful possession of an air gun, underage drinking, possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.

Oakes is currently out on bond for another felony drug charge and supervision for misdemeanor theft, the prosecutor said.
According to the allegations, Oakes and some friends were near the pool near Centennial Park at 93rd Street and South Nashville Avenue, around 3:30 p.m. July 18.

Officers said that Oakes appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs. They also noticed the butt of a gun jutting out of his clothing, which was later identified as a replica air gun.
During a search, three pills -- two green and one yellow -- were found in a cigarette pack, which were later determined to be Alprazolam, the prosecutor said.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Oakes has worked at a butcher shop for the past six years, and is a graduate of Shepard High School in Palos Heights.
“Can I say something,” Oakes asked in court. “Last night was completely stupid and a relapse.”
“This cannot be tolerated,” Judge Felice said.
Bail on the new felony case was set at $30,000, and $20,000 for violation of supervision. Oakes is being held on a no bail warrant for violating bond.
“I’m going to be watching you for a long time,” the judge warned him.
Oakes is due back in court Aug. 10 on the bond violation, and Aug. 16 for the new cases and violation of supervision.
