D218 Plans Community Forums For Superintendent Search

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — CHSD 218 will be gathering input from stakeholders and community members as part of the district’s search process for a new superintendent, The current superintendent, Dr. Ty Harting, will retire at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

Forums are planned at Shepard High School, for Wednesday, 13049 S. Ridgeland Ave., Palos Heights, and Thursday, Oct. 14, at Eisenhower High School, 12700 S. Sacramento Ave., Blue Island. The community forums will take place in each school’s cafeteria and start at 6 p.m. Both will last about an hour.

The forums will allow the community to share characteristics desired in the next superintendent of schools. In addition to the forums, Dist. 218 is asking stakeholders and community members to complete an online survey, available in English, Spanish and Arabic.
