Corey P. Lyons, 21, of the 10500 block of South 83rd Court, Palos Hills, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content more than 0.08 and speeding after a Jan. 11 traffic stop, according to a Palos Heights police report.
Police clocked Lyons going 55 mph in a 40-mph zone at around 3 a.m., in the 11500 block of Southwest Highway, the report stated. Lyons told police he had been drinking earlier, and he failed field sobriety tests at the scene, the report added. Lyons later took a breath test, which registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.139, according to the report.

Lyons was held on $1,000 bond, and his court date is Jan. 28.

Edward P. Meek, 49, of the 13000 block of Parkside Drive, Palos Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and driving without insurance after a Jan. 10 traffic stop, according to Palos Heights police reports.
Police pulled over Meek at about 2:07 a.m., in the 8000 block of West 135th Street, after he made crossed over the lane lines numerous times, the report stated. At the scene, Meek failed field sobriety tests and did not have a valid insurance card, the report added.
Meek was held on $3,000 bond, and his court date is Feb. 5.
Transporting Unsafe Equipment
Enrique F. Flores, 17, of the 10900 block of South St Louis Avenue, Mount Greenwood, was charged with transporting unsafe equipment and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after a Jan. 10 traffic stop, according to a Palos Heights police report.
Flores was stopped at about 3:28 a.m., in the 7300 block of West 127th Street, because his front passenger bumper was dragging on the road, the report stated. Flores, who is under 21, was charged after he gave a breath sample of more than 0.00, the report added.
Flores was held on $120 bond, and his court date is Jan. 28.
Possession of Marijuana, Driving on Suspended License
Martin Valencia, 27, of the 6500 block of South Keeler Street, Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended registration, driving with a suspended registration, driving without insurance and driving with one headlight after a Jan. 10 traffic stop, according to a Palos Heights police report.
Police pulled over Valencia at about 8:46 p.m., in the 12400 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, for driving with only one headlight on, the report stated. During the stop, police could smell an odor of pot coming from inside Valencia’s car, the report added. A search of the vehicle uncovered a clear baggie filled with pot under the driver’s seat, according to the report.
A passenger in the car also was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia after a glass smoking pipe was found on her, the report stated.
Valencia was held on $1,000 bond, and his court date is Jan. 28.
