DUIs and a Warrant Arrest: Blotter

Palos Heights police reports, Feb. 25–28.

SUNDAY, FEB. 28

DUI

Ramon A. Rivera Jr., 32, of the 8600 block of South Kenneth Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit, speeding driving without a rear registration plate after a Feb. 28 traffic stop, according to Palos Heights police reports.

Rivera was pulled over for speeding by police at about 3:26 a.m. in the 11900 block of South Harlem Avenue, the report stated. During the stop, police noticed that Rivera appeared under the influence of alcohol, the report added.

Later, Rivera took a breath test, which registered a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.08, the legal limit, the report stated.

Rivera was held on $1,000 bond, and his court date is March 25.

Electronics Stolen from Garage

Electronic equipment was reported stolen Feb. 28 from the resident’s garage in the 12700 block of Oak Park Avenue, according to Palos Heights police reports.

Francisco J. Sanchez, 36, of the 3500 block of West 66th Place, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and failure to dim headlights after a Feb. 24 traffic stop, according to Palos Heights police reports.

Police pulled over Sanchez at about 1:04 a.m. for improper lane use and not dimming his lights in the 12400 block of Harlem Avenue, the report stated. An investigation during the stop found the driver to be intoxicated, the report added.

Sanchez was held on $1,000 bond, and his court date is March 25.

FRIDAY, FEB. 26

Warrant Arrest

George J. Katerinis, 26, of the 1500 block of Concord Drive, Downers Grove, was taken into custody on an in-state warrant during a Feb. 26 traffic stop, according to Palos Heights police reports.

Police pulled over Katerinis at about 8:27 p.m. in the 12300 block of South Harlem Avenue, the report stated. A background check then revealed an outstanding Cook County Sheriff’s Office warrant, the report added.

Katerinis was held on $15,000 bond.

THURSDAY, FEB. 25

DUI

Russeel J. Golubiewski, 53, of the 7200 block of Kiowa Lane, Palos Heights, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit, illegal transportation of open alcohol, failure to signal a turn and failure to wear a seatbelt after a Feb. 25 traffic stop, according to Palos Heights police reports.

Golubiewski was pulled over by police at about 7:30 p.m. for not signalling a turn and not wearing his seatbelt while traveling in the 7200 block of Ishnala Drive, the report stated. During the stop, Golubiewski showed signs of intoxication and failed sobriety field tests, the report added.

When the car was searched, an open container of alcohol was found under the driver’s seat, the report stated. Golubiewski also took a breath test, which registered a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.08, the legal limit, the report added.

Golubiewski was held on $3,000 bond, and his court date is April 8.
