Dunkin' Donuts Worker Charged in Park Robbery

20-year-old says it was someone else who grabbed alleged victim's money after he threw the person on the ground, prosecutors say.

A 20-year-old Dunkin’ Donut worker was charged with robbery after he was picked out of a lineup by the purported victim, prosecutors said.

According to the charges, Kevin Lyons was in a Bridgeview Park on July 21, when he grabbed the individual from behind and threw them to the ground. He then grabbed $54 and fled.

Prosecutors said the person who was robbed picked Lyons out of a photo lineup, who was arrested on August 12.

Lyons allegedly made a statement that he threw the person to the ground, but it was someone else who grabbed the money. Lyons claims he only ot $20.

The assistant public defender said that Lyons works at Dunkin’ Donuts.

The judge set Lyons’ bail at $25,000. Lyons is due back in court on Sept. 14.
