Stolen Tools

Tools were reported stolen Dec. 3 from storage containers in the 8600 block of West 109th Street, according to Palos Hills police reports.

The victim noticed the lock on one of his containers was broken and claims a concrete saw, rotary hammer, and circular saw had been taken, the report stated.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 2

More Stolen Tools

Tools and a tool bag were reported stolen Dec. 2 from a locked van, according to Palos Hills police reports.

At about 11:30 a.m, the victim noticed the lock to the back of his van, which was parked in the 9600 block of West 96th Street, had been punched, and his bag containing a welder, hammer, cordless saws, and other tools had been stolen.THURSDAY, DEC. 3

CraigsList Scam

A woman was bilked out of more than $1,000 after responding to an ad about vacation rental homes on Craigslist, according to Palos Hills police reports.


The woman told police she wired $1,100 to reserve a vacation home that she she had seen advertised on the online classifieds site. The victim then tried contacting the location of the rental house but was told the homes hadn’t been built and were not being rented yet, the report stated.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 18

Harassing Texts

Amanda Holwell, 43, of Palos Hills, was arrested and charged her with harassment by electronic communication after being accused of sending threatening text messages, according to Palos Hills police reports.

The victim told police that Holwell continued to send the unwanted messages even after being told to stop, the report stated.
