Lady Bank Robber Attempts Heist in Palos Heights: FBI

FBI says woman left the Palos Heights Chase without taking any money. Same woman is suspected in two other robberies.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- A woman attempted to hold up a Palos Heights banks late Friday afternoon, but got spooked and left before she got any money, the FBI said.

Witnesses told law enforcement that a woman entered the Chase bank branch at 127th Street and Ridgeland around 5:30 p.m. The woman’s head was covered with a scarf. No weapon was displayed.

The would-be lady bandit is of Middle Eastern descent in her late twenties to early thirties, , about 5-feet-5-inches tall with a slender build. She was wearing a pink headscarf, pink shirt, light gray sweatpants and black shoes, according to BanditTrackerChicago.

The FBI believes the same woman is responsible for two other non-takeover bank heists, both of them Chase branches:

  1. Chase Bank. 255 W 144th, Riverdale, 3:49 p.m. June 23, 2016
  2. Chase Bank. 255 W 144th, Riverdale, 5:49 p.m. Sept. 9, 2016

Anyone who recognizes the woman or has information about the robberies is asked to contact the Chicago FBI at 312-421-6700.
