Fire In The Park
Palos Hills police were called to assist in a report of a fire around 1:30 p.m. June 2 at Michael Park. Police and fire arrived in the 10500 block of South Michael Drive to see a small fire on the playground equipment. The blaze was extinguished and no injuries were reported. The playground equipment sustained minor damage.
Batter Up
A 16-year-old boy was spotted allegeding hitting the air-conditioning units at the Green Hills Public Library. Officers spotted the lad beating on the units around 3:30 p.m. May 31, reports said. There was some damage to the units. The case was forward to the Juvenile State’s Attorney’s office in Bridgeview.
Loaded Gun
A Palos Hills man was arrested on gun charges after officers observed him sitting in a parked smoking marijuana around midnight May 30, reports said. Jon Kelly, 37, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of ammunition. Police said Kelly did not have a FOID card. Kelly is due in court June 18 in Bridgeview.
