Worth Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Mentally Disabled Woman

Police said man met Palos Hills woman at Walmart in 2017 and assaulted the woman in her home.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- A Worth man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman with mental disabilities whom he had met a Bridgeview Walmart. Joseph Gleeson IV, 28, is charged with six counts of criminal sexual assault. He is being held on $500,000 bail at Cook County Jail.

According to the charges, a warrant was issued for Gleeson’s arrest Gleeson exposed himself to the woman, who is diagnosed with mental disabilities, as she shopped at Walmart, 10260 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview, on July 22, 2017. The two continued shopping and exchanged phone numbers, the Sun-Times reported. Gleeson and the woman exchanged phone numbers and after a series of texts, police said Gleeson went to the woman’s home in Palos Hills where he sexually assaulted her.

Gleeson's last known address is the the 6700 block of Lloyd Drive, Worth. He was taken into custody Sept. 11 at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Bail was set at $500,000. Gleeson’s next court date is Oct. 16.
