Man Busts Father-In-Law’s Nose In Tiff Over Amazon Purchase: Cops
Palos Heights man had used his father-in-law's credit card to make Amazon Prime purchase leading to the altercation, prosecutors said.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- A Palos Heights man is charged with breaking his 67-year-old father-in-law’s nose during an argument over an Amazon Prime purchase, prosecutors said. Jay Warren, 43, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a felony charge of aggravated battery. The argument, which led to the nose-breaking, apparently centered about an Amazon Prime purchase.
Police were called to the 3100 block of Carriage Trail around 3 a.m. July 18 for a report of a domestic disturbance. The father-in-law was taken to the hospital where a cat scan revealed a fractured nose, as well as significant bruising on the older man's face and arms. The prosecutor said the two were arguing over a purchase Warren made on Amazon using his father-in-law’s credit card.
Warren has no prior criminal record. The assistant public defender told the judge that Warren is a graduate of Stagg High School. Warren was ordered not to have any contact with his father-in-law while the case is pending. The public defender said that Warren can stay at a property he manages in Burbank.
