Man Found with Cocaine During 'Domestic Trouble' Call: Prosecutor

Man charged with possession of a controlled substance when cocaine was found at Maywood lockup, prosecutors say.

A regional sales manager for a liquor distributor was arrested after police found him in possession of cocaine during a “domestic trouble” call in unincorporated Palos Park, prosecutors said in court on Monday.

Nicholas Maglaris, 57, appeared for a bond hearing on a possession of a controlled substance charge.

According to the charges, Maglaris threatened three people in a domestic incident on August 9. Officers found what later field tested positive for cocaine while Maglaris was being processed at the Maywood jail.

Prosecutors said the amount of cocaine found was less than 15 grams.

The assistant public defender explained to the judge that Maglaris was in a “rocky marriage.” He is also a regional sales manager for a fairly large Midwest “spirits” distributor.

Maglaris was released on a $10,000 I-bond and must submit to random urine drops.

His next court appearance is September 8 in Bridgeview.
