Masked Man Robs 2 Palos Hills Restaurants At Knifepoint: Police

PALOS HILLS, IL — A masked man carrying a long, curved knife held up two Palos Hills restaurants in separate incidents, according to police reports.

Around 7 p.m. March 9, Palos Hills officers went to Mickey's Gyros, 10710 S. Roberts Road, for a report of an armed robbery attempt. The owners told police that a man wearing dark clothing with a mask over his face brandished a knife and demanded money. Police said the owners struggled with the purported robber, who pushed the cash register to the floor, damaging it.

The next evening, around 9 p.m. March 10, a man wearing the same dark clothing and mask walked into the Domino's at 10402 S. Harlem Ave.

According to the report, the man threatened an employee with a knife and demanded money. At first, the employee refused, but when the man began waving the knife around, the employee got scared and put cash from the register on the counter.

Police said the man left the restaurant on foot with $100 cash.
