Memorial Day Ceremonies Planned In Palos Area

PALOS, IL -- Palos Park is fortunate to have two Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremonies, which this year falls on Monday, May 27. At 11 a.m., the Palos Historical Society will host a ceremony at the historic Oak Hill Cemetery at 131st Street and Southwest Highway. Oak Hill dates back to 1839 and includes the final resting places of the area’s earliest settlers, as well as Civil War soldiers.

The Village of Palos Park will hold a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony on at 1 p.m. Residents will gather by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial on the village green located at 8901 West 123rd St. in Palos Park.

At 11 a.m., Palos Heights will hold a Memorial Day Service at Memorial Park, 7607 W College Drive.
