Beloved husband of Mary (nee Lyons). Devoted father of Michael (Katie) and Marcia (Edgar) Sarmiento. Loving grandfather of Kai, Jonas, Michael and Amanda. Dear brother of Richard (Rosemary) Mathis and the late William, Sandra and Tony. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Michael worked many years with the Cook County Sheriff's Police Department and was a WGN traffic reporter.
Visitation, Thursday, July 20, 2017, 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Kerry Funeral Home, 7020 West 127th Street, Palos Heights. Funeral, Friday, July 21, 2017, 10:00 am from the funeral home to Incarnation Church, 5757 West 127th Street, Palos Heights for mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
