Coronavirus: Moraine Valley Cancels Graduation, Offers E-Learning
Moraine Valley' campuses closed through April 19. Campus events are canceled for rest of spring semester. Student Services offered remotely.

PALOS HILLS, IL — All spring semester instruction set to resume in an online format at Moraine Valley Community College when students returned from spring break on Monday, March 23, will continue online through then end of the current spring semester. The main campus in Palos Hills, and extension centers in Blue Island and Tinley Park will be closed through April 19, college officials announced. The measures are being taken to reduce community spread of coronavirus.
Faculty and staff members are working remotely and all student support services will be offered remotely only. Employees will accessible by phone and email to meet student needs. The closure includes the Health, Fitness and Recreation Center, and all on-campus events, including the college’s commencement ceremony, are canceled.
“These changes present many challenges for our employees and students,” college president Dr. Sylvia Jenkins said in a news release. “Everyone has been working cooperatively and collaboratively to help ensure the college’s operations and student learning can be successful during these unprecedented times.”
Students are encouraged to routinely check their Moraine Valley email, communicate with their faculty members, and use the resources available on the college’s student portal, MVConnect.morainevalley.edu
