Moraine Valley Fills Demand With New Supply Chain Courses

Moraine Valley fills demand with new supply chain courses starting this fall.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Demand for trained employees in the emerging field of supply chain management logistics has led Moraine Valley Community College to offer a 17-hour certificate in the field. The fall programming includes classes designed to kick-start or advance a career in supply chain management. New offerings include forklift and operator training and an aerial platform safety.

Jobs in supply chain are one of the hottest job tracks offering a high earning potential, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“The supply chain and logistics industry is growing, and there is a shortage of skilled labor,” said Steve Pappageorge, executive director of Corporate, Community and Continuing Education (at Moraine Valley. “Our forklift and aerial work platform courses enable entrance into this industry. Many other career options exist provided individuals invest in building additional skills to make them a more competitive candidate.”
