With most classes taking place online, the group is only meeting for the first class to get instructions and music. The remainder of the semester will be online. Participants will practice the same piece and each send a recording of their part to the choir director, Tammi Carlson, at the end of the first week. She will send feedback, and then participants will record the piece a second time, which Carlson will compile into one final YouTube group performance. This format will continue with new music every three weeks.
The Flute Choir is comprised of high school and college students as well as community members. Players generally use a C flute or piccolo. If someone wants to play alto or bass, he/she can use a college instrument. For more information, contact Carlson at carlsont@morainevalley.edu.
