Moraine Valley Hosts College Night for High School Students

Representatives from colleges and the armed forces will be available to discuss college options with high school students on Oct. 11.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Students from area high schools and Moraine Valley are invited to attend College Night on Wednesday, Oct. 11. College and university representatives will be on hand to discuss high school students’ post-secondary school careers from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Health, Fitness and Recreation Center (Building H) on Moraine Valley Community College’s Palos Hills campus at 9000 W. College Parkway.

Moraine Valley’s College Night event attracts a number of representatives from public and private colleges, proprietary schools and armed forces. Representatives will be to discuss the admissions process, academic offerings, student life, athletics, financial aid, and more. Moraine Valley representatives also will be on site to discuss the transition to college.

Some of the confirmed attendees include Alverno College, Benedictine University, Central Michigan University, DePaul University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Grand Valley State University, Greenville College, Illinois Institute of Technology, Kendall College, Purdue University, Michigan State University, University of Missouri, University of St. Francis, U.S. Army, and Western Illinois University, to name a few.

“College Night is a great opportunity for our district high school students and families to explore all of the college options available to them as they begin to think about their post high school education,” Andy Sarata said in a news release, Moraine Valley’s director of admissions and recruitment. “They can get all of their questions answered by a variety of college representatives as they make their college choice.”
