Moraine Valley Introduces Career-Ready Non-Destructive Training
Moraine Valley's NDT technical training program teaches students to define and implement tests that locate flaws in bridges and planes.

PALOS HILLS, IL -- Individuals looking for a new career with solid employment opportunities need look no further than the Nondestructive Testing program at Moraine Valley Community College. The NDT program at Moraine Valley, the only one of its kind at a community college in Illinois. This a four-course certificate program that can be completed is as little as one semester.
This growing field plays a critical role in assuring structural components and systems such as bridges, airplanes and roller coasters perform their function in a reliable and cost-effective fashion. NDT technicians and engineers define and implement tests that locate and characterize material conditions and flaws, providing an excellent balance between quality control and cost-effectiveness.
NDT students at Moraine Valley receive hands-on training with current technology to ensure they are well-prepared after completion of the courses. Those who complete the program can work for such industries as aerospace, wind energy, amusement parks, and many more. Courses beginning in July include Liquid Penetrant, Longitudinal Ultrasonic Evaluation, Magnetic Particle, and Radiation Safety.
