Moraine Valley Offers Accelerated 4-Week Online Winter Session

PALOS HILLS, IL — College students home for the holidays and current students at Moraine Valley Community College can pick up credits by enrolling in a four-week online winter session. Students can complete accelerated online classes in this shorter session, which is formally part of the spring semester. Registration for the winter session begins Nov. 11.

Online lasses start Dec. 17, including:

  • Principles of Marketing (BUS-130-300)
  • Introduction to Criminal Justice (CRJ-101-300),
  • Microsoft Office I (IMS-115-300),
  • American National Government (PSC-110-302),
  • Astronomy—Cosmos (PHS-105-300), Introduction to
  • Psychology (PSY-101-303),
  • General Sociology (SOC-101-306) and
  • Introduction to Marine Biology (BIO-221), which is a travel course requiring a prerequisite General Biology I (BIO-111) class.

Many of these courses transfer to four-year schools, benefiting visiting university students over
the holiday break. They also will benefit those looking to accelerate their coursework toward a
degree or certificate. Moraine Valley offers classes for students who want to transfer to four-year colleges or universities by earning associate degrees in Applied Science, Arts, Fine Arts, Science, Engineering or General Studies.

Students also can choose from several certificate career programs offered at the college, including Allied Health and Nursing, Business and Computer Sciences, Industrial Technology, Automotive Technology and Public Service.

$128 per credit hour plus fees and books. New students must complete an admission application, and then can register in the registration office, located on campus in the Student Services Center (Building S), 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills;
