PALOS HILLS, IL -- Teens looking to get some real world experience and boost their employability can take advantage of the career exploration offerings from Moraine Valley Community College’s Valley Learning Center this summer. Two camps are being offered for high school students aspiring to nursing career or build their job searching skills.

The week-long half-day nursing camp gives teens an inside look at what it’s like to be a nurse. The camp will include basic hands on nursing skills, career discussions and forums with both college nursing students, as well as registered nurses. Students will earn a basic CPR certification and practice their skills in the patient simulation lab. The camp runs Monday, June 3, through Friday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to noon at the college’s main campus in Palos Hills. The cost is $299. Registration is required; the course code for this class is LPY4-506-001.

Teens who want to improve their skills to help them find a job, perform well in the workplace and gain success in a job or career can register for the two-day Workplace Soft Skills for Teens class. The $99 class provides an overview of basic behaviors, etiquette and protocols that a job-minded teen needs in order to communicate effectively as a professional.
