Palos Cops Stake Out Dunkin' Rooftops Friday For IL Special Olympics
Make a donation to Special Olympics Illinois at Cop On A Rooftop at Dunkin' Donuts Friday, May 17 and receive a coupon for a free donut.

PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Park police along with officers from the Palos Heights and Palos Hills police departments will be staking out Dunkin’ rooftops Friday, May 17, for Special Olympics Illinois. The annual Cop On A Rooftop stakeout runs from 5 a.m. to noon.
Officers will be camped on the roof of three Palos-area Dunkin’ locations, including:
- 12807 S. Harlem Ave., Palos Heights
- 10340 S. Harlem Ave., Palos Hills
- 13029 S. LaGrange Road, Palos Park
Guests who make a donation will receive a coupon for a free donut, according to the event website. If you donate $10 or more, you will receive a tumbler and a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Dunkin’ and Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois partnership. This partnership has been a huge success over the years raising more than $8.7 million in Illinois.
Police will also be selling Law Enforcement Torch Run merchandise, including T-shirts, hats and pins, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to support the Special Olympians. Count on a few athletes being present as well.

You never know what will happen at a Cop On A Rooftop event. In 2018, a mysterious man driving a Rolls Roycestopped at the Palos Park Dunkin’ Donuts and wrote out a check for $25,000.
