Palos Heights Police Warn of Uptick in Burglaries from Vehicles
Be sure to lock your car doors to help thwart and thieves.

Palos Heights police are warning residents to lock their cars and be vigilant, after an increase in thefts from cars in the area.
The thefts have typically occurred after dark, mostly to unlocked vehicles. The areas along Ridgeland Avenue from 127th Street to 135th Street have been targeted in most incidents.
Items taken during the thefts have included GPS units, MP3 players, wallets, purses, credit cards and miscellaneous cash and change.

- Lock car doors and windows, and set car alarms.
- Do not leave valuables in the cars, especially in plain view.
- Report any suspicious persons, especially those who may be walking down residential streets/driveways in the overnight hours and looking into car windows and trying door handles. Call 911 to report.
