Punch in the Face

Palos Hills police investigated an incident of criminal trespassing and battery Feb. 18 in the 10600 block of 81st Court. According to reports, a woman claimed that her ex-husband entered the home around 10 p.m. without her permission and punched another individual in the face.

Dog Injured in House Fire

A dog was injured in a fire Feb. 20 in the 10900 block of Westwood Drive, Palos Hills. Police arrived around 2 p.m. to assist the North Palos Fire Protection District with a house fire. The fire apparently began in the kitchen and spread up to second floor. The only injuries reported were that of the family dog.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Raymond Silke, 38, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, improper lane usage, failure to wear a seatbelt, possession of drug paraphernalia and four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Palos Hills police observed a vehicle around midnight Feb. 26 driving over the medians in the area of 111th Street and Southwest Highway. Officers stopped the vehicle in traffic and approached Silke, who they said had red glassy eyes and seemed lethargic. When Silke exited the vehicle, several pills and a white powdery substance were found in the front driver’s seat, reports said.

Silke was charged and brought to the Leighton Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California for a bond hearing.
