Palos Hills Woman Duped In Brazen Grandma Scam

Police said woman gave a man who came to her door $10,000 after being told her son was in an accident and needed an attorney.

PALOS HLLS, IL -- A Palos Hills woman was taken advantage of in a brazen grandma scam. Police said the woman was contacted by a man, who said her son had been in accident and needed $30,000 from her for an attorney.

The woman told police that an unknown man came to her door later that day. She handed him $10,000. After speaking with her son, she realized she had been duped.
