Palos Park Officer Honored Before Army Deployment To Middle East
"Rebecca Buhs exemplifies the strong ties policing and military service have to performing her duties with dignity and respect."

PALOS PARK, IL -- The Palos Park Police Department honored one of its own. Officer Rebecca Buhs will deploy with the U.S. Army on a yearlong tour of the Middle East. Buhs will work her last shift before she leaves April 30.
“Palos Park Police emphasize service as a core part of our mission and we are extremely proud of our military employees for serving both our nation and our community,” Mayor John Mahoney said. “We are honored to have them working in Palos Park.”
Buhs’ commitment to the U.S. Army began when she enlisted as a student at the University of Illinois Chicago. Police Commissioner Dan Polk said that “besides being a fine civil servant, Rebecca exemplifies the strong ties policing and military service have to performing her duties with dignity and respect. Something we have grown accustomed to in Palos Park.”
