PALOS PARK, IL — Yes, there were a lot of Palos Park police officers at the Dunkin on Rt. 45 Aug. 20, but they were not just there for donuts. They were there for the annual Coffee for Champions (formerly Cop On A Rooftop), asking residents to help them raise money for the Special Olympics Illinois. Palos Park police officers even got behind the counter to help raise money.

Officer Ryan Franczak said the event is a way to help out a good cause while being visible and active in the community.

"We strive to be a big part of our community and make sure that we're reaching out and engaging with our community to work toward always developing positive relationships," Franczak said.
