Palos Park Police Ramping Up DUI Patrols for Thanksgiving Weekend
Palos Park police be out in force Nov. 22 through Nov. 26 patrolling for drunk drivers, aggressive drivers and unsafe drivers.

PALOS PARK, IL -- The Palos Park Police Department will be ramping up patrols over Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 22 through Nov. 26. If you’re going out for Black Wednesday Eve, have a plan for getting home. Police officers will be focusing on aggressive drivers, unsafe drivers and drunk drivers.
Residents are also being asked to be part of the public safety solution by obeying traffic laws. Don’t tailgate, obey the speed limit and stay off your cell phone while driving. If you drink, then please don’t drive. Plug some numbers for cab companies into your phones, or consider ride sharing. Parents may want to remind their college students returning home for the holiday weekend that police departments throughout the area will be running DUI patrols, and laws regarding alcohol consumption, drinking and driving.
Palos Park police officers will also pull over motorists that don’t yield or change lanes for first responders assisting other drivers or responding to roadway emergencies, including police officers, firefighters, tow truck drivers and roadway maintenance workers. Motorists who see suspected impaired drivers are advised to call 911 immediately.
