Palos Park Police Searching for Person of Interest in Home Burglary

The home was burglarized Tuesday afternoon.

Palos Park police are asking the public to be on alert for a man wanted for questioning in a home burglary.

A home in the 12400 block of 82nd Avenue was ransacked Tuesday, with the rear door kicked in and house found in disarray, police said.

The owner was out of the house between 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., police said. Around 1 p.m., a man knocked on the door of a neighboring home, asking the woman if she needed any painting done. He did not provide a flier or business card.

Police would like to question the man, described as a white man in his 40s with blond hair. He was of a tall, thin build, and was wearing painters clothing, police said. Neighbors also observed a blue or purple mid-sized, four-door vehicle in the victim’s driveway between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.
