Palos Park Police Will Help Super Bowl Revelers Get Home Safe
If you're in Palos Park and have had too much to drink watching the big game at party or bar, call the Palos Park police for a ride home.

PALOS PARK, IL -- It’s not every police chief who gives out his personal cell phone number for people to call for a ride when they’ve had too much to drink, but then Chief Joe Miller, of the Palos Park Police Department, isn’t like most police chiefs.
Chief Miller encourages everyone planning to attend parties or hanging out at their favorite bar when the New England Patriots face off against the Atlanta Falcons in the big game this Sunday. Next to New Year’s Eve and the Fourth of July, Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest drinking days of the year.
Police are always on the alert during Super Bowl weekend for a spike in unsafe and impaired drivers. The Palos Park Police Department would much rather have those who’ve overindulged call them than get behind the wheel and get into an accident.

If you’re out celebrating and have had too much to drink, spend the night at your party host’s house or designate a driver to take home you and your inebriated friends. Don’t ruin the big game by making a super colossal mistake driving home drunk.
Business owners of bars and restaurants are also being told to be on the lookout for drunken patrons and not to over serve customers. Party hosts should also prepare plenty of snacks and have non-alcoholic beverages on hand for their guests. Should someone drive home impaired from your business or home and get into a wreck, you too could be held liable.
