Palos Park Police Will Step Up DUI Patrols Halloween Weekend

Palos Park police want Halloween revelers to take it easy on the roads and to call the chief if you've had too much to drink.

PALOS PARK, IL -- Palos Park police want Halloween partiers to take it easy on the roads this weekend, especially if they’re drinking. Beginning Oct. 27 through Oct. 31, Palos Park officers will step up their presence on the roadways as part of a statewide crackdown on drunk driving.

“The consequences of drinking and driving are too high, and the safety or our children who are trick-or-treating and your fellow motorists is our paramount concern,” Palos Park Police Chief Joe Miller said. “Impaired driving is wholly preventable and not worth the risk.”

The focus of the high visibility campaign is to simply send a clear message to drivers that impaired driving is taken seriously and roadway safety remains a priority of law enforcement. Motorists who witness an impaired driver on the roadways are urged to call 911 to notify authorities.
