Palos Park Shell Station Sells $550K Lucky Day Lotto Ticket
Leap day was extra lucky for someone who bought a Lucky Day Lotto ticket at a Shell gas station in Palos Park.

PALOS PARK, IL — It was a lucky leap day was lucky for someone who purchased an Illinois Lottery ticket. A gas station in Palos Park sold a $550,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto tick in the Saturday, Feb. 29, evening drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell, 12301 S. 80th Ave., in Palos Park and matched all five numbers – 14 - 18 - 23 - 28 - 33 – to win the jackpot. The retailer will receive a bonus of $5,500, or one percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the Illinois Lottery’s five prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.
