Palos Power 10U Hybrid Team Wins Third Tournament Championship in Three Weeks

Impressive team scores 251 runs in 19 games, allows just 20 runs

Palos Power 10U Hybrid softball won their third tournament championship in as many weeks yesterday. The team – managed by Brian Burke and assisted by Scott Bille, Jenny Greene and Mark Jarmoszka – took the 10U title in the Palos Power Tournament for the second year in a row with a 9-2 victory over Schererville Heat. They won the Orland Park Lightening Tournament July 9 in an 11-10 battle with Evergreen Park, and the Homewood Invitational Tournament – beating New Lenox Power 10-0 – July 16.

“This team has had an impressive season,” said Coach Burke. “They’ve scored 251 runs in the last 19 games, allowing only 20 runs. And their record since April is 32-4, with 22 shut-outs.”

Hallmarks of the team are strong pitching and hitting, and Burke credits the girls’ success to hard work, teamwork and excellent team chemistry. “What we have here is extremely rare,” noted Coach Burke. “These girls have played together for three years, and they work really well together. In fact, they spend as much time together outside of practice and games as they can. And the parents and siblings all get along. It’s pretty incredible.”
