Palos Schools Call e-Learning Friday Ahead Of Winter Storm: UPDATED 3X

Palos schools are closing buildings and planning e-Learning ahead of Friday's anticipated winter storm.

PALOS, IL — School districts are starting to announce closings in anticipation of a winter storm on Friday that could dump up to nine inches of snow in parts with 50 mph wind gusts of the Chicago area.

Winter storm watches have been issued beginning late Thursday evening into early Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

While school buildings will be closed, e-Learning will be in effect Friday, gypping kids out of an actual snow day.

Mother McAuley High School - closed, e-Learning

St. Laurence High School (Burbank) - closed, e-Learning

Brother Rice High School - Closed (a full traditional snow day off)

Palos Heights Dist. 128 - Closed, e-Learning

Palos School Dist. 118 - Closed, e-Learning

Southwest Chicago Christian Schools (Palos Heights)

Elim Christian Services (Palos Heights) - closed through Monday

AERO Special Education Cooperative (Burbank) - Closed, e-Learning. Please contact your student’s teacher by email if you have any questions about AERO’s E-Learning Plan.

Palos Heights Recreation Department:

- Little Learners - cancelled

- Powerplay before and after school - cancelled

- Open Gym - Cancelled until at least 3 p.m.

- Open Pickleball and Peaceful Yoga - on as scheduled

- Southwest Christian Schools - Closed; no evening activities

Saint Xavier University (Chicago) - e-Learning

Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights) - e-Learning

Governors State University (University Park) - Closed through Sunday
