Oak Lawn man on parole for second degree murder charged with possession of crystal meth in Palos Heights.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- An Oak Lawn man on parole for second-degree murder was arrested on Jan. 12 in Palos Heights for possession of crystal meth, prosecutors said. Joseph Jesk, 31, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He currently is on parole for a 17-year sentence for shooting his wife in their Oak Lawn home in 2010.
According to the charges, Jesk was a passenger in a car where the driver had been pulled over for driving under the influence in Palos Heights. When Jesk got out of the car, the prosecutor said a vial of suspected crystal meth fell out of his pocket. Police also found a glass pipe.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Jesk manages on Dominio’s restaurant. She said Jesk is not expected to be charged with a parole violation. Jesk pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2011, according to court records. He was released on parole last year.
