• Protect Your 'Vote-By-Mail' Ballot In The Nov. 3 Midterm Election: Letter (patch.com) — Palos-area residents who requested vote-by-mail ballots for the Nov. 3 gubernatorial election are being urged to return them early to avoid postal delays. The League of Women Voters of the Palos-Orland Area recommends mailing ballots by Oct. 20, using secure drop boxes, or requesting a hand-stamped postmark, and reminds voters they must choose either mail-in or in-person voting, not both.
