PLOWS Respite Service Gives Family Caregivers A Break
If you're caring for an older individual 60 years and older and need a break, PLOWS Council on Aging offers respite service.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- If you care for an older family member who depends on you for everyday care and need a break, PLOWS Council on Aging is offering respite services. Respite creates some free time for caregivers by providing temporary care for a family member. The service can be provided in the home, at an adult day service facility, or in a long-term facility.
According to the National Alliance for Caregiving, 29-percent of the U.S. population -- or 65 million people -- will spend an average of 20 hours per week caring for a chronically ill, disabled, or aged family member or friend during any given year. PLOWS can assist family caregivers of individuals 60 years and older in benefitting from respite services.
PLOWS services 20 communities comprising the Palos, Lemont, Orland and Worth townships. For more information about respite care, contact PLOWS at 708.361.0219.
